Comments don't work if you click the "Comments" link at the bottom of an entry, but they will if you click the permalink (i.e. the time of posting) and write your comment into the form there instead. [Edit: Comments are fixed. Still battling many other gremlins though. KNNBCCB.]

Posted by: zyn at April 13, 2008 1:10 AMI took one class (randomly organized by my company as a staff welfare thing, and unfortunately I can't remember which bead shop did the teaching), but taught myself everything else through using library books (most will give adequate technique guidance, so just pick one where you like the aesthetic of the jewellery being made) and websites for technique information, and various online shopping sites like Etsy as inspiration.
I'm sure signing up for an actual course would have lots of benefits, so I'd encourage you to do so. Having said that, if you're just looking to make stuff for yourself (as opposed to learning because you intend to start a small business eventually), I think you can teach yourself quite easily at much less cost.
